On June 10-14, 2023, No Tears Project Ensemble conducted a multi-day residency with concerts, a masterclass, and panel discussions in Memphis, TN in partnership with the National Park Service, Memphis Public Libraries, Memphis Library Foundation, and Memphis Jazz Workshop.
The residency included the premiere of new commissions including music by trumpeter / arranger Marc Franklin, in collaboration with composer Donald Brown, and music by Memphis native Robert "Bobby LaVell" Garner.

Additionally, a panel discussion exploring the stories of civil rights activists Elizabeth Eckford, member of the Little Rock Nine; Dwania Kyles, member of the Memphis 13; and Reena Evers-Everette, daughter of civil rights activists Medgar and Myrlie Evers took place at Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, and was moderated by Dr. Russell Wiggton, President of the National Civil Rights Museum.

No Tears Project Ensemble was also honored to perform in the Children's Library at Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, and to conduct a masterclass and performance with over 50 students from Memphis Jazz Workshop.
